Sweet control is their specialty. Pancreas Medimon balance sugar highs and lows, making battles all the sweeter for it.

Stage One

Alpha Cell

Alpha Cells are found in the Pancreas and produce a hormone called glucagon. Glucagon helps raise our blood sugar levels when they get too low by telling the liver to release stored sugar into the bloodstream.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is a condition where our body cannot use insulin properly, leading to high blood sugar levels. This can happen when our cells become resistant to insulin, or our pancreas does not produce enough insulin. This disease also affects many organ systems including the eye, cardiovascular, and kidneys.

Semaglutide

Semaglutide treats Type 2 Diabetes by activating the GLP-1 receptor which helps our body release more insulin when needed and reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver. This helps lower blood sugar levels and improves overall blood sugar control.

Stage Two

Beta Cell

Beta Cells are also found in the Pancreas and produce a hormone called insulin. Insulin helps lower our blood sugar levels by allowing sugar to enter our cells to be used for energy.

Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks and destroys the Beta Cells in the Pancreas. This means the body cannot produce insulin, leading to high blood sugar levels.

Insulin

Insulin treats Type 1 Diabetes by replacing the insulin that the body cannot produce on its own. People with Type 1 Diabetes need to take insulin injections or use an insulin pump to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Stage Three

Pancreas

The Pancreas is an organ located in our abdomen that helps with digestion and regulates our blood sugar levels. It produces digestive enzymes and important hormones like insulin and glucagon.

Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is an inflammation and autodigestion of the Pancreas, often caused by gallstones, alcohol, or certain medications. This inflammation can cause abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Pancreatic Enzymes

Pancreatic enzymes treat Pancreatitis by helping with digestion. These enzymes are usually produced by the Pancreas but may not be produced in sufficient amounts during Pancreatitis. Taking pancreatic enzyme supplements can help break down and absorb nutrients from food, reducing symptoms and promoting healing.
